The crew that have taken Penta 80 from SeaWorks back to Krossholmen with a great stop over at Strandby would like to thank everyone for a great time onboard. Björn, Anders and Mikael have sailed Penta 80 approx 1000 Nm during this week.
Together with our Commercial Center JL SKIBSSERVICE we had the opportunity to interact, listen and present our nice product to marine commercial customers. It is essential for us to get the feedback from the real users and that is one of the reasons why this Trip is so important to us.
During the test runs we got the feeling that they were impressed by the outstanding manoeuvrability but also the low vibrations and sound levels.
At 13:00 we arrived in Strandby after a bumpy trip from Fredricia. We had SE winds of approx. 20 knots but still we managed to have an average speed of 30 knots. After arrival, the Volvo Penta Center invited us on “frukost” with delicate Danish “smorrebrod”.
We are looking forward to meeting all customers at tomorrows event.
The last four days have been quite busy and eventful and we have paid a visit to a local shipyard, “Multiship Holland”. Now we are on our final leg at full speed towards Scandinavia with a new speed over ground record of 32,1 knot’s. Not bad at all.
After long negotiations with the lock management at Brunsbuttel we finally tied our boat up at a dock inside of the lock. Again a very late arrival and no time for blog activities.
Tuesday, after a very nice and sunny day in the Kiel channel we are now running at full speed heading towards Frederica, Denmark. Expected ETA is 19.27. See you later!
This day was not as good as yesterday, we had a wind change to NW and that means that we had the wind and waves against us all day. Speed limited to 14-20 knots but still we managed to get to Den Helder where we had a very good welcome by the harbour master, the first thing she asked us was if the boat was equipped with IPS. Probably she was very impressed by our entrance in the tight harbor
Finally we left Southampton after having bunkered the PTA80 with destination Dover. When reaching Dover we decided to do the channel CROSS and go on to Zeebrugge. The first day we went 200+ Nm with an average of approx. 26 knots, as test engineers we decided to test the package to the limits. After the speed limits in Southampton we pulled full throttle and didn´t pull back before the entrance at the harbor piers in Zeebrugge.
